Your birth chart, across the Earth.
Astrocartography maps the places where the planets were rising, setting or crossing the upper or lower meridian at your birth. Starry Bodies lets you select a line, read its symbolism and explore real places along it.

Start with the moment you arrived.
Enter your birth date, local birth time and birthplace in the Studio. Choose the city from the search results so its coordinates and IANA time zone are attached to the chart. The calculator resolves the historical offset for that date, including daylight saving time.
Create your chart, then open Earth map. Select a planet in the menu or a line on the map to highlight it and open its interpretation. Click a country to reveal its name and city labels. The map stays quiet until you ask for more.
One planet. Four ways of meeting a place.
| Line | Astronomical meaning | Interpretive focus |
|---|---|---|
| AC / Ascendant | Rising on the eastern horizon | Embodiment, identity and how you enter experience |
| DC / Descendant | Setting on the western horizon | Encounter, partnership and what others bring into view |
| MC / Midheaven | Upper meridian crossing | Visibility, vocation and participation in public life |
| IC / Imum Coeli | Lower meridian crossing | Roots, home and the private foundations of life |
A Venus line is not one universal promise of love. Venus on the MC asks different questions from Venus on the IC. Read the planet, its angle and the natal chart together.
A place is more than its nearest line.
Individual line readings include nearby places, their distance from the line and a short reason to explore each location. Start with those readings before opening the collapsible confluence report beneath them.
Confluence compares several planetary influences against intentions such as belonging, creative work or relationship. It explains the contributing lines and tradeoffs. It is a symbolic comparison of a curated place atlas, not a search of every settlement or a guarantee that a city will suit you. Relocation then lets you inspect how the local angles and houses change while the birth instant stays fixed.
The birth time matters.
A different birth time changes the geographic lines. A four-minute time difference corresponds to roughly one degree of Earth’s rotation; the effect on a particular line and location varies. Enter a recorded time when available and keep its uncertainty in mind.
If you do not know the time, choose “I don’t know the time.” Starry Bodies shows date-based planetary ranges instead of inventing angles, houses or a precise astrocartography map.
Common questions
A little more clarity.
Is the astrocartography map free?
Yes. Casting a chart, exploring the standard planetary lines and reading individual line interpretations are part of the free Studio. The lifetime edition adds the complete confluence report, relocation and deeper tools. Check the Studio for current availability.
Do tropical and sidereal astrocartography lines differ?
For the same birth instant and planetary coordinate model, the geographic angular lines are the same. Tropical and sidereal change the zodiac reference used for sign positions and chart readings, not where a planet was rising, setting or on the meridian.
Can I make a map without a birth time?
A precise angular map requires a birth time. Unknown-time mode offers planetary ranges for the local birth date and omits the time-dependent map, angles and houses.
Which astrocartography line is best for me?
There is no universally best line. Compare the planet and angle, the natal context, your intention and nearby influences. Use the place descriptions and confluence explanation to understand a shortlist rather than treating a ranking as a prediction.
Can I download my map without an account?
Yes. Create your chart and choose Save interactive map. The downloaded HTML map is separate from an account chart library. Keep files containing birth details private.
