Synastry · Starry Bodies

Two skies. A conversation.

Synastry compares two natal charts. It asks how one person’s planets meet the other’s planets and houses, making patterns of attraction, support, tension and difference visible without reducing a relationship to a score.

Begin a synastry chart

Free to begin. No account needed to cast or download a chart.

Begin with one person. Add the other.

Cast the first chart in the Studio, then open Synastry and choose Add another person. Enter the second person’s birth details. Charts from this visit can be compared without an account; a saved library offers another way to choose people.

Both birth times must be known for the current synastry experience. This keeps personal angles and house overlays tied to actual inputs rather than a guessed time. Ask permission before entering someone else’s birth details or sharing a comparison.

Select the contact you are curious about.

Click an aspect line or its entry in the contact list to highlight the pair and read the interpersonal interpretation. The reading identifies whose planet is involved, its natal context and the relationship between the two points.

A contact can describe an ease you overlook or a tension that invites practice. One difficult aspect does not cancel affection; one flowing aspect does not establish compatibility. Read recurring themes across the comparison and bring them back to lived experience.

Notice where someone enters your life.

House overlays show where one person’s planets fall in the other person’s houses. Reverse the view to inspect the other direction. A planet in your partner’s seventh house is a different statement from their planet in your seventh.

Starry Bodies keeps the people, chart layers and directions named. The free preview provides an initial relationship overview and interactive contacts. The full edition expands the interpersonal passages and deeper relationship exploration.

Synastry and composite ask different questions.

Synastry preserves two charts and measures contacts between them. A midpoint composite constructs a symbolic relationship chart from the midpoints between corresponding natal positions. It is not the sky at an actual shared birth moment.

The Studio labels the composite technique separately. It does not present a composite as a natal astrocartography map.

Common questions

A little more clarity.

Is there a free synastry chart?

Yes. You can compare charts created during a visit, explore interactive contacts and read the initial relationship overview without an account. Complete interpersonal readings and composite exploration are part of the full edition.

Can synastry prove that two people are compatible?

No. It is a symbolic way to reflect on relationship patterns, not a validated compatibility test or a prediction of a relationship’s outcome. Starry Bodies does not assign a compatibility score.

Does synastry include Chiron, angles and lunar nodes?

The comparison supports these points through the chart’s aspect and point settings. Available contacts depend on the selected points, aspect set and orb limits.

Can I reverse the two people?

Yes. Reverse the house-overlay view to see how each person meets the other’s houses. The measured interpersonal contacts remain the same geometric relationships.
